The most beautiful places in Japan?

What are the five places you would recommend going to in Japan? (preferably near Osaka, Kyoto or Tokyo).

I love natural scenery and my girlfriend loves romantic places. The answer with the most places that we end up booking will get 10 points. Thanks. (BTW, I'm going in May. so Cherry Blossom and any winter activities are probably unlikely)
The most beautiful places in Japan?
Mt. Fuji's the obvious one. Other than that I would recommend (in and around Kyoto):

The Philosopher's Path - gorgeous walking path in Kyoto

Kinkakuji - Golden Pavilion

Ginkakuji - Silver Pavilion (I preferred it to the gold one)

The Ise Shrine - Not too far from Kyoto, and absolutely beautiful scenery

Nara - Full of friendly (a little too friendly) deer, the Daibutsu (huge Buddha Statue) and various temples. Short train ride from Kyoto

The baseball stadium used during the WBC.
Japan won the tournament.
you might want to go there to see what went down.

the whorehouses
On top of what the others have already said. Osaka Castle is lovely during cherry blossom time - get there early to stake out a good picnic spot. Arashiyama is near Kyoto and absolutely gorgeous.
Go to Nara. It is just a bit south of Kyoto and Osaka. Its got culture, trees, mountains and deer running wild. It is the ancient capital.

If you make it to Hiroshima, also hit Miyajima Island. It is just off the coast. Wow!
must go hokaido....
